What will I learn?

If you have a passion for caring for people, want to work in one of the fastest growing industries in Australia and around the world, or simply want to know how to care for your parents or grandparents when they get older, our Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) will help you achieve your goals.

We understand your passion in helping others. That’s why we’ve created a course that supports and fosters your enthusiasm.

Caring for individuals requires you to be knowledgeable within a wide range of specialised areas. In 6 months, our course will prepare you for working as a personal care worker in residential aged care facilities and home-based care organisations. You will be required
to undertake a minimum of 120 hours of work placement (five days per week for approximately 3.5 weeks) to ensure that you can practically apply what you learn in class and to give you hands on experience in ageing, home and community care.

Special note: Prior to undertaking clinical work placement all students must obtain a National Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC) (Volunteer), Commonwealth of Australia
Statutory Declaration and prescribed immunisations. A list of required immunisations will be supplied by the Institute. Students will be responsible for the costs associated with these
