What will I learn?

CIT’s Accounting qualifications will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to work in a variety of finance jobs, ranging from administrative or budget officer, to advanced roles in the banking and financial industries.

  • BSBFIA401 Prepare financial reports
  • BSBSMB412 Introduce cloud computing into business operations
  • FNSACC311 Process financial transactions and extract interim reports
  • FNSACC312 Administer subsidiary accounts and ledgers
  • FNSACC408 Work effectively in the accounting and bookkeeping industry
  • FNSACC416 Set up and operate a computerised accounting system
  • FNSTPB401 Complete business activity and instalment activity statements
  • FNSTPB402 Establish and maintain payroll systems

Electives: complete all 5 subjects

  • BSBITU306 Design and produce business documents
  • BSBITU402 Develop and use complex spreadsheets
  • BSBWRT301 Write simple documents
  • FNSACC313 Perform financial calculations
  • FNSACC414 Prepare financial statements for non-reporting entities

Job outcome:

Employment in accounting roles such as completing BAS, completing other office taxes, operational reporting, producing management reports, managing a small office.

From Semester 22025, the location of courses delivered at CIT Reid will transition to the new CIT Woden campus. CIT will provide support for students who will be making the move to Woden.

Entry requirements

For international students

Academic requirements:

  • Year 12 Certificate or equivalent
  • Students over the age of 20 may be eligible for adult entry

English requirements:

  • IELTS 5.5 (no band score less than 5.0)
  • TOEFL iBT - 46
  • PTE Academic - 42 (minimum of 36 in each band)
  • Cambridge English test (C1 Advanced and B2 First) - 162

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
