What will I learn?

This qualification will equip individuals with highly specialised and technical skills in the cyber security sector. Students will implement a network security infrastructure and learn testing concepts, procedures and protocols to manage network breaches and vulnerabilities.

Cyber security is an emerging sector in Australia that is expected to generate jobs in the Australian economy.

This course is suitable for individuals who wish to develop highly specialised skills in cyber security.

In this course, students will learn about:

Identifying and managing cyber security threats

Monitoring and detecting risks of cyberattacks in a network and system security framework

Software and tools to defend against security breaches

Developing systems to minimise network vulnerabilities and protect an organisation from insider security attacks

Students can progress onto the next level of qualification within the college.

or other relevant qualifications

Credits may also include units of competency contained within relevant skill sets and statements of attainment.

University Pathway:

This qualification may provide a pathway into university in the program Bachelor of Information Technology.

Entry requirements

For international students

There are no formal entry requirements.

English Requirements:

IELTS band score of 5.5 (academic test version) or;

TOEFL PBT score of 530 or;

TOEFL CBT score of 197 or;

TOEFL IBT overall score 71 ( No band less than 70) or;

equivalent internationally recognised exam result in line with Department of Home Affairs.
