What will I learn?

The Diploma in Liberal Studies provides students from diverse backgrounds with a flexible one-year introduction to tertiary studies through the completion of 80cp of Arts units. Students completing the Diploma may choose their units from a wide range of Arts subjects.

The Diploma in Liberal Studies prepares you for a wide choice of careers in areas such as government, industry, business, the creative arts and education.

It is a Diploma-level course that is offered to domestic and International students. It is available to international students as a UniAccess-International program.

A student who successfully completes four or more units in the Diploma in Liberal Studies may be awarded a Certificate in Liberal Studies.

Students with a Student Visa will need to complete the program in minimum duration, study at least one subject on-campus each semester and must not undertake more than 33% of the program online.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed year 12 or equivalent with a minimum 50% pass, plus an IELTS overall score of 6.0 with an individual score of 5.5 in all tests.

Pearson Test of English (PTE): 54 with a minimum of 42 in all four communicative skills

Test of English as a Foreign Language - Academic (TOEFL): Internet based total of 78: minimum 20 in writing, 12 in reading, 17 in speaking and 11 in listening

ACU English Language Test: C (60-64%)

Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): Overall CAE: 169: Individual score of at least 162 in all tests
