What will I learn?


The Diploma of Information Technology provides an introduction to key theoretical and practical knowledge in information technology including programming, computer science, business systems, database design and digital media.

Students who succeed in the program can choose from a number of undergraduate degrees offered by the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and progress directly into the second year of the degree.


Equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree.

Prepares students for entry into the second year of a Bachelor degree within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Teaching and learning activities focus on assisting students to acquire academic knowledge and also the study skills needed to succeed in higher education in Australia.

English language skills are integrated into the academic subjects to assist students to increase their confidence and competence.

Entry requirements

For international students

You will

  • be at least 17 years of age
  • hold a Year 12 (or equivalent) qualification with a minimum Selection Rank of 60; or HSC (or interstate) board exam with minimum average mark* of 60.

Academic IELTS of 6.0 overall with minimum 5.5 in each band, or equivalent.
