What will I learn?

If you're looking for a pathway to an accredited teaching degree, La Trobe's Diploma of Teacher Education is the perfect opportunity to take your first step towards a rewarding career in teaching.

When you successfully complete the Diploma of Teacher Education, you could progress to a Bachelor of Education (Primary), Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education. You'll also receive advanced standing for up to one year of full-time study.

You'll develop solid foundations in digital learning, literacy, numeracy and learning contexts – skills that will serve you throughout your teaching career. Immerse yourself in the full university experience, studying alongside Bachelor students in the same subjects.

We're at your side every step of the way. Receive personalised advice from a dedicated Student Adviser and connect with discipline-based peer mentors. We'll help you enrol, choose your subjects and navigate university systems and requirements. You can also access the university-wide careers service for advice and assistance on your resume, interview skills and career planning.
