What will I learn?

Covering areas such as mental health, governance, management and leadership education, research and professional development, our postgraduate nursing program offers the ideal vehicle for you if you are a Registered Nurses and want to develop your nursing expertise and function at an advanced level in your profession.

While we expect applicants to have a previous degree, if you have accumulated a wealth of nursing experience but have no degree you will also be considered. Additional support will be offered to you if you do not already hold a nursing degree. Furthermore, designed for working professionals, the Graduate Diploma of Nursing can be combined with full-time work since weekly contact time is between two and four hours per subject.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants who have a recognised Bachelor's degree in any discipline. English language requirement: IELTS (Academic) - 6.5 overall, with no writing score lower than 6.5 and no other individual band score lower than 6.0; CAE/CPE - 176 overall, with no score lower than 176 in writing and no other band score lower than 169; PTE Academic - 58 overall, with no score lower than 58 in writing and no other band score lower than 50; TOEFL (iBT) - 84 overall, with no score lower than 22 in writing and no other band score lower than 17.

For international students

The following entry requirements apply to this program:

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or provisional registration, whichever is applicable at the time of commencement
  • Nursing of other appropriate degree or the equivalent
  • Minimum of one year relevant post registration nursing experience.

English Language requirement:

IELTS (Academic) - 7.0 overall, with no individual band score lower than 7.0; OET - B in all sections; PTE Academic - 65, with no individual band score lower than 65; TOEFL (iBT) - 94, with no score lower than 24 in reading and listening, no lower than 23 in speaking, and no lower than 27 in writing.
