What will I learn?

The Master of Construction Project Management will teach you modern management methodologies and how to apply them across the different phases of the construction life cycle. It will give you an advanced understanding of the body of knowledge in construction project management, including established theories and recent developments, and you will learn to apply these principles to new and complex buildings and infrastructure.

During your study you will execute a research-based or professional project, undertake a capstone experience or complete a piece of work involving substantial scholarship. You will emerge with improved proficiency to meet construction management challenges both now and into the future. This is offered as a 1.5-year or a one-year degree, depending on previous studies and experience.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

The minimum entrance requirement is completion of an accredited four-year, or three-year plus a fourth year, APAC-accredited sequence in psychology, including a major research thesis, completed within the last 10 years with Honours Class 1 (85%), or Upper Second Class Honours (75%) or their equivalents. Psychology qualifications from overseas must include a major research thesis/project and must be assessed by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) as comparable to a four-year APAC-accredited sequence of study in psychology completed in Australia.

For international students

For the 1.5 year (72 UOC) program: Undergraduate degree with a credit average in a related* field OR Undergraduate degree in any field with a credit average plus 3 years construction industry experience at a managerial level OR Graduate certificate in CPM with a credit average

For the 1 year (48 UOC) program: Undergraduate Honours degree with a credit average in a related* field OR Undergraduate Honours degree with a credit average in a unrelated field honours plus 3 years construction industry experience at a managerial level OR Masters degree with a credit average in a Related* field

*Related field: Studies in built environment disciplines, engineering, business or law.

English Language requirements:

IELTS Academic version only: 7.0 overall (min 6.0 in each subtest)

TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): 94 overall (min. 25 in writing, 23 in reading, listening and speaking)

TOEFL Paper-based Test (PBT): 589 overall (min. 5.0 in TWE)

Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 65 overall (min. 54 in each subtest)

Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 185 overall (min. 169 in each subtest)

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 185 overall (min. 180 in each subtest)
