What will I learn?

We are pleased to introduce our latest post-graduate course - the Master of Creative Industries (MCI). The MCI aims to build on your creative networks, strengthen your knowledge of applied creative research, critical thinking and to extend your practice with supervisory guidance from experts in your field. These skills are vital to succeed within the competitive creative industries - enrol with us to get ahead, and stay ahead.

Objectives

The MCI is about getting YOUR high-quality creative work OUT into the world, both locally and internationally. The MCI will help you consolidate your own creative identity while simultaneously giving you the tools to position your work in the real-world arts community. This begins locally, where you will become a part of the fertile arts community that is Melbourne Polytechnic, Fairfield Campus, a rich place for collaboration and creative-centric work.

You will work closely with mentors and supervisors-leading experts in your field-to develop a major project over 3 semesters either as a fine artist, designer, writer, musician, jeweller, film maker, curator or other creative arts professional. You will incorporate and overlay your own creative practice into your study; it’s all about your choices and your creative development.

Upon completing your degree, likely areas of employment lie within creative enterprises, as an arts professional, a practicing artist, a self-employed arts entrepreneur or within the public service sector and/or academic creative arts related fields.

Become a creative arts entrepreneur, a leader in social innovation. Gain support in undertaking research in your OWN creative field. Connect with your creative arts community, both locally and internationally. Make it happen in the MCI.
