What will I learn?

Macquarie has always considered our students to be co-creators in their learning. One of the most exciting developments in our new curriculum is around your ability to study two degrees at once.

In this double degree, you will be able to combine:

  • Master of Management: This degree, developed specifically for recent graduates and early career professionals, will provide you with deep experiential learning within contemporary business settings, and will give you opportunities to practically apply your learning to real and current corporate challenges.
  • Master of Public and Social Policy: With its dual focus on policy analysis and applied social research, this unique degree will give you a deep understanding of the forces that shape policy and the processes involved in making it. You’ll develop advanced skills in critical analysis to help you design and deliver effective policy solutions that serve the public interest, as well as the confidence to make socially informed judgements in a range of specialist policy areas.
  • Double degrees fast-track your study – you usually complete double degrees one or even two years faster than you would undertaking both degrees on their own. This not only saves you time but money as well.
  • Macquarie is ranked number one in Sydney for median graduate salary, overall quality of educational experience, teaching experience and skills development (for postgraduate coursework) and for overall graduate satisfaction in business and management (QILT, 2017).
  • This degree is ideal if you hold an undergraduate degree in an area outside of business/commerce and your goal is to gain a managerial position in your particular field of expertise.
  • You’ll learn skills in both quantitative and qualitative social research, including how to engage with statistical data in an applied manner, conduct surveys and analyse survey data, run focus groups, undertake interviews and apply qualitative data in a range of policy tools.
  • MGSM has an international reputation for excellence in management education and is consistently ranked in the top tier of business schools worldwide.
