What will I learn?

Centennial College's Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology – Automation and Robotics (Fast-Track) program is for qualified college or university graduates of engineering and science programs. These applicants gain direct admission into year two (semester three) of this three-year engineering program and receive their advanced diploma in two years (four semesters).

This applied science program's courses provide a thorough understanding of theory, along with practical hands-on laboratory experience. Special attention is given to embedded systems using microcontrollers, quality control using vision inspection and SPC, and continuous feedback control using PID. You also learn integration of automated equipment through its design, fabrication and installation.

Program Highlights

Centennial College's Automation and Robotics diploma is recognized across Canada.

Real-time industrial application studies with industrial production equipment are provided as you study in the first fluid power training centre in Canada.

The option exist for two paid work terms (see program #4136).

There is a strong Automation and Robotics Student Society on campus.

You complete a three-year program in two years (plus time spent in two work term placements for the co-op option).

We will consider applicants with a combination of partial diploma or degree and relevant work experience

Additional Requirements

Centennial College English Skills Assessment (must score 170 or 171 for admission)

Centennial College Engineering Math Skills Assessment may be requested (applicants will be notified individually)

English Language Requirements:

  • A TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 80+ (internet based with no test below 20)
  • IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0+ (with no single test score below 5.5)
  • CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) with an overall band score of 60
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) score of 51 plus
  • ITEP (International Test of English Proficiency) score of 3.7 plus.
