This program prepares you to implement energy solutions for commercial and residential buildings using knowledge of energy systems, energy efficiency and renewable/distributed energy systems, design, assemble and program building automation systems, develop advanced control systems for energy, chemical processes or manufacturing, design and maintain heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration units and operate power plants of various sizes.

Energy Systems Engineering Technology program graduates are prepared to:

Apply knowledge of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, computation fluid dynamics and mechanics to industries such as: moulding and casting, integrated circuit packaging, heat exchanger/boiler design and manufacture, and petrochemical processing.

Entry requirements

For international students

Academic Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older)

English Language Requirements:

  • A TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 80+ (internet based with no test below 20)
  • IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0+ (with no single test score below 5.5)
  • CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) with an overall band score of 60
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) score of 51 plus
  • ITEP (International Test of English Proficiency) score of 3.7 plus.
