What will I learn?

The combined degree programs are administered on behalf of the Richard Ivey School of Business and the Department of Geography in the Faculty of Social Science.

The combined program is a five-year program leading to a BA in Honors Business Administration (HBA) and a BA with Honors Specialization in Urban Development (Geography). In Years 1 and 2 students are registered in the Department of Geography and follow the normal curriculum for the Urban Development module. In Year 3, students are registered in the HBA program. Students are registered in the combined program in Years 4 and 5.

Completion of 5.0 first-year courses with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 75% and no mark below 60% in the 3.0 principal courses.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants must complete the full International Baccalaureate Diploma including each of the following to be considered for admission: Completion of the entire Diploma including the Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay; Passes in a minimum of 6 subjects of which 3 must be at the Higher Level; A minimum grade total of 28 including points awarded for the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge; No mark less than 4 on any individual course; Prerequisites for your program as specified by Western. Other English Language Requirements accepted: Minimum score required on the TOEFL is 550 on the paper based with a 5 on the TWE, and 83 on the internet-based tests with no score below 20; Pearson Test of English Academic: A minimum overall score of 58 is required with no score less than 56; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): A minimum overall score of 80 is required with no score less than 78; International English Language Testing Service (IELTS): a minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no part less than 6.0; CanTEST: A minimum overall score of 4.0 is required with no part less than 4.0; CAEL: A minimum overall score of 60 is required with no part less than 60.
