What will I learn?

As a student in the English program, you will explore an array of literary genres and develop creative and interpretive skills. Our program provides comprehensive historical coverage to expand students' writing skills, and analysis and argumentation to express ideas clearly and effectively.English literature courses cover literature from the medieval period to the present and provide instruction in theoretical approaches and critical methods. Courses in film, theatre and creative writing are also offered. BA Advanced 120 credit hours of study with a minimum GPA of 2.00 in all faculty-required courses. Students select a major and minor program of study or a double major in lieu of a minor.

Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.Direct entry applicants are those who have not attended a post-secondary institution or have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a recognized university or college.Advanced entry applicants are those who have completed one year (24 credit hours) or more of studies in another faculty at the University of Manitoba or another recognized post-secondary institution.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
