What will I learn?

Join Sport Media, the first program of its kind in North America, to learn sport entertainment management, sport journalism, live production, on-air hosting and multiplatform marketing. You’ll study issues and concepts informing and shaping the sport industry’s future. Toronto is home to Canada’s media hub and home to many professional and amateur sports teams. As part of the RTA School of Media, you’ll gain hands-on experience and career preparation with access to elite internships, guest speakers, state-of-the-art technology at the Sportsnet RTA Production Centre in the Mattamy Athletic Centre, live sports events and an optional minor in Business Essentials.

After Graduation

Graduate with the specialized skills to score big in the dynamic world of sport media, including live sports broadcasting or on-air hosting; professional league and sport federation operations; sport entertainment management or documentary production, features production and long-form sport journalism; and media entrepreneurship or graphic design. Work as a video producer, sports journalist, broadcast executive, marketing manager or agent, or pursue graduate studies in media production, sport management or psychology, business, marketing or journalism.

This is a Grades-Only program. Students are evaluated on the basis of academic achievement/grades only. Additional non-academic requirements are not required for admission consideration.

Entry requirements

For international students

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including some program specific requirements.

English language requirements: IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL: 92-93 Internet-based, CAEL score of 70 and PTE score of 60, Cambridge English - 180 and above on C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency.

February 1 is the guaranteed consideration date for applications to all programs.
