Our Finance major is affiliated with Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFA) and partnered with Canadian Securities Institute (CSI). This major prepares you for the CFA and CSI exam and a successful career in the financial service industry. With extensive training in Bloomberg, Data stream, Capital IQ, and SDC database and simulated trading and portfolio management, you will get a technical and analytical background.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students are required to complete international academic qualification equivalent to Canada Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Applicants must complete the appropriate number of courses and the program-specific subject prerequisites in their secondary school or post-secondary studies prior to pursuing university-level studies. Completion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma including English SL or HL. Prerequisite courses can be presented at the Standard or Higher Level with no score lower than 4. A minimum overall score of 24 is require for admission consideration; actual admitting scores vary from program to program. English language proficiency requirements: International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Overall score of 6.5 with no sub-score less than 6.0, Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): Minimum score of 85. Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Minimum score of 58, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Internet-based test (iBT) with a total score of 83, and minimum scaled scores of Listening: 20; Reading: 20; Speaking: 19; and Writing: 20.
