What will I learn?

Students who opt for this specialization will gain a solid foundation in management science courses, specifically tailored to better prepare them for a career in engineering or applied science management or for graduate studies in management related specializations (e.g. MBA). Students must complete all first year courses and obtain a CLEAR Standing to be eligible to enrol in this specialization. Dive into a world where cutting-edge engineering meets life-saving innovations in one of Canada’s first and longest-running biomedical undergraduate programs. With top-tier professors and collaborations in surrounding world-class hospitals, you’ll be at the forefront of healthcare advancements.In your first year of the Biomedical Engineering degree program, you’ll learn engineering fundamentals, like calculus and physics. In later years, you’ll study topics such as biomechanics, medical robotics and rehabilitation and tissue engineering. In fourth year, your capstone design project will provide you applied design and implementation experience and opportunities to participate in hospital collaborative projects. You’ll also have opportunities to gain experience through an optional paid co-op.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be considered for admission, Ontario high school students must meet the following requirements:Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)Completion of 6 Grade 12 U or M courses with a minimum overall average of 70%Completion of the following required Grade 12 U courses (minimum grade of 70% in each):English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)Advanced Functions (MHF4U)Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U)Physics (SPH4U)Chemistry (SCH4U)An overall average of 70% is required for consideration. Due to competition, the average needed for admission can fluctuate each year (it depends on the number of applications received and the number of spaces available). Applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma must present grades of 4 or higher in 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level subjects, including prerequisite subjects, and a total score of 28 or higher (bonus points will be accepted).
