What will I learn?

The Addictions Recovery Practitioner post-diploma certificate program provides health and human services professionals with the knowledge and skills to work with clients experiencing substance use and concurrent disorders. The program is offered in a flexible combination of online courses and live classroom instruction on evenings and weekends.

The program emphasizes acquisition of applied skills and best practices in direct client care, advocacy, ethics, and work with families and communities. The program builds upon students’ previous training and experience, and graduates are equipped to meet client and employer needs in a range of relevant settings.

Practicum/Work Experience

This program includes 15 hours of community service learning.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students must have completed a USA Senior High School. Applicants to post-secondary programs at NorQuest College are evaluated for admission based on the completion of education at the senior secondary/high school level, or higher. Applicants that have completed the high school level of education in another country must have graduated with appropriate high school documents and credentials. The documents must present relevant and appropriate academic coursework that can be considered equivalent to the course work required for admission (e.g. English, Math, Biology, etc). IELTS Academic - 6.5, no section score below 6; TOEFL iBT - 84, no section score below 21.

For international students

Students are required to complete international academic qualification equivalent to Canada Ontario High School.

English Language Proficiency:

IELTS Academic: 6.5, no section score below 6; TOEFL iBT: 84, no section score below 21; CLBA: No section score below 8; CELPIP General: 8, no section score below 7; CAEL: 60, no section score below 60; NorQuest coursework: Minimum of 80% on ESLS 8000 or 8100, and 80% in ESLW 8000 or 8100; or minimum of 50% in ESLG 1860 and 1861
