About this course

What will I learn?

The Internet and Web Technology Certificate program emphasizes web development and computing and provides a solid foundation for the technical side of e-business. There is no computing knowledge required to be accepted to this program.This program helps students gain skills sought by employers, including standard procedural and object-oriented computing, shell scripting, and networking. The program focuses on modern web programming methodologies, tools, and frameworks.This program will prepare graduates for their first employment as entry/junior-level QA or Help Desk/IT Support Specialist.The program can be completed in three consecutive semesters if started in the Fall. The program can be started in other semesters but may take longer to complete.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students must have a BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent).

English Language Requirements

  • A minimum 50% in English First Peoples 12, English Studies 12, Literary Studies 12;
  • Langara English Test (LET) with a score of 2;
  • An 'S' grade in ENGL 1107 or 1110; or a minimum 'C' grade in ENGL 1120;
  • A minimum 'D' grade in an English (Post-Secondary Transfer) course;
  • IB English A (HL or SL) or IB English Literature and Performance (SL) with a score of 2;
  • AP English Literature and Composition or AP English Language and Composition with a score of 2; or
  • A minimum 'C' grade in GCSE O-Level English, GCSE English Language B.
