What will I learn?

In just two years, Centennial College’s Business - Finance program will develop the communication, marketing, analytical and selling skills you need for the finance world, in which you will interact with and maintain clients. Covered in this School of Business offering will be financial topics as well as general business knowledge.

Upon graduating from this four-semester program, you will qualify to write the:

  • Investment Funds Exam, which will license you to sell mutual funds;
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) qualifying exams;
  • Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH), which will qualify you to sell stocks and bonds;
  • Life License Qualification program (LLQP) exam, which, upon passing, will qualify you to write the Ontario Life Insurer exam.

Successful completion of industry-recognized courses is essential for a career in the financial services industry. These courses have no substitutes. Registration in these courses will incur costs in addition to regular Business - Finance tuition.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must satisfy the following:

  • English Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent or take the Centennial College English Skills Assessment for Admission
  • Mathematics Grade 11 or 12 C, M or U, or equivalent or take a Centennial College Math Skills Assessment for Admission
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older)

Other English Language Requirements

Applicants with English Level COMM 160/161 must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), or
  • CAEL with an overall band score of 60, or
  • MELAB score of 76
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) score of 51 plus, or
  • ITEP ( International Test of English Proficiency) score of 3.7 plus

Applicants with English Level COMM 170/171 must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Minimum TOEFL score of 560 (paper-based), or 84 plus minimums of 21 for the Internet-based test, or
  • CAEL with an overall band score of 60; writing score of 60, or
  • IELTS score of 6.5 with no band score less than 6.0, or
  • MELAB score of 78, or
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) score of 58 plus, or
  • ITEP ( International Test of English Proficiency) score of 3.9 plus
