What will I learn?

We understand that some students do not have the professional or academic qualifications but wish to pursue the MBA program. Students have the option of completing the four MBA Foundation courses. In order to qualify for admission to the MBA program, students will need to earn a grade of B or better on each Foundation course.

Course Structure

The MBA Foundation includes courses in the following areas:

  • MBAF 501 – Business & Academic Writing
  • MBAF 502 – Quantitative Skills for Business
  • MBAF 503 – Business Fundamentals
  • MBAF 504 – Economics from a Business Perspective

Entry requirements

For students from United States

A cumulative GPA of 2.33 or better in a Bachelor degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. One of the following: A suitable score on a Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) that has been written in the last five years; A relevant Canadian professional designation or equivalent international designation (e.g. CPA, CA, CGA, CMA, CHRP or P.Eng); A minimum of three (3) years documented professional or management experience with evidence of career progression and relevant education and/or training. English is the language of instruction at University Canada West. If your first language is not English, you must submit one of the following: Required score on a recognized English proficiency test; Academic IELTS - 6.5 overall with minimum of 6.0 in the writing band; TOEFL iBT - 88 overall with minimum of 20 in each component; PTE Academic - 61 overall with minimum score of 60 in writing; CAEL - 70 overall with minimum of 60 in each subtest.

For international students
