What will I learn?

The Schulich Finance offerings are amongst the most comprehensive in Canada, with coverage of the full spectrum of financial activities, including:

Financial Management topics include: capital budgeting (the investment decision); capital structure (the financing decision); working capital management; evaluation of acquisitions and divestitures; and management of foreign currency exposures.

Financial Engineering equips students with basic skills necessary to develop and value new financial instruments and implement risk management schemes.

Investment Management focuses on the design, marketing and trading of financial instruments, including bonds, stocks and derivative securities.

Private Wealth Management provides in-depth investments knowledge, an understanding of personal taxation issues and personal financial and small business planning strategies and a background covering legal issues such as estate planning, power of attorney and family law.

Schulich graduates can also specialize in Financial Services or pursue a concurrent Graduate Diploma in Financial Engineering.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Other English Language Requirements accepted: York English Language Test with a Overall band: 1-5; TOEFL: Computer-based: 220,Paper-based: 560; Test de français international(TFI) with a Overall score: 785.

For international students

An undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a minimum B average in the last two full years (or equivalent) of academic work.

Applicants with 3-year degrees may be considered for admission with one year of work experience beyond the required minimum.

Language Test Scores

IELTS (Academic Test) - 7.0 overall (minimum 6.5 on each dimension

TOEFL - 100 iBT (minimum 23 on each dimension)
