What will I learn?

Effective environmental action and research require engagement – with the land and those who live on it. In our MSc program, you’ll conduct vital environmental research in partnership with international communities, First Nations, government agencies and more. This program is research-intensive and focused on the creation of a thesis. You’ll start the program with a three-day field camp.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an institution recognized by Uvic; Equivalent of a minimum “B” average over the last two years of your degree; Any requirements specific to your program of study; TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): We require a minimum score of 90 from the internet-based TOEFL (IBT). You must also score at least 20 points each in the listening, speaking, reading and writing sections; IELTS (International English Language Testing System): We require minimum overall band score of 6.5 on the IELTS. No individual component can have a score lower than 6.0.

For international students

Equivalent of a minimum A- (7.0) average over the last two years of your degree.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): We require a minimum score of 90 from the internet-based TOEFL (IBT). You must also score at least 20 points each in the listening, speaking, reading and writing sections.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System): We require minimum overall band score of 6.5 on the IELTS. No individual component can have a score lower than 6.0.
MET (Michigan English Test): A score of 64 on the MET will be accepted as proof of English proficiency.
