What will I learn?

UTP Stage II: Engineering is equivalent to the first year of Toronto Metropolitan Universitys Engineering and Architectural Science degree. Upon the successful completion of UTP Stage II, youll begin the second year of your degree at TMU.TMUs Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Sciences undergraduate programs prepare students to make meaningful contributions to advancements in technology, health, environmental sustainability, design and more. All engineering programs are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.

Entry requirements

For international students

The minimum age requirement at TMUIC is 17 years old. Students must turn 17 by the last day of their first semester to be admitted.

Entry into UTP Stage II generally requires the successful completion of Year 12 of secondary school or its equivalent with overall and individual subject requirements depending on program.

GCE A Levels - Two (2) A Levels with final grades of 1 C and 1 D grades in 2 academic subjects, one of which must be Mathematics. Physics and Chemistry with grades of C required at the GCSE/IGCSE/O Level or A Level.

International Baccalaureate - International Baccalaureate diploma with a total score of 24. Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches; or Applications and Interpretation), Physics, and Chemistry with grades of 3.

English Language Requirements:

For Direct Entry: IELTS - IELTS 5.5 with no band lower than 5.0; TOEFL iBT - TOEFL overall 69; Cambridge English - B2 First or C1 Advanced with a minimum score of 162 with no grade lower than 154; Duolingo – 95; EIKEN Japan - EIKEN Japan: Pre-1; GCSE/'O' Level English Language - GCE 'O' Levels: C; HKDSE - HKDSE English Level 3; International Baccalaureate (IB) English - IB English A or English Higher Level (HL) 4; Pearson Test of English (PTE) - PTE overall 46, no band below 42; Pearson Versant English Test (PVT) - PVT overall 50; and SPM English (1119) - SPM English (1119) 4B.

For Integrated Entry: IELTS - IELTS 5.0 with no band lower than 4.5; TOEFL iBT - TOEFL overall 60; Cambridge English - B2 First with a minimum score of 154 with no grade lower than 147; Duolingo – 85; EIKEN Japan - EIKEN Japan: 2A; GCSE/'O' Level English Language - GCE 'O' Levels: D; HKDSE - HKDSE English Level 2; International Baccalaureate (IB) English - IB English A or English B Higher Level (HL) 3; Pearson Test of English (PTE) - PTE overall 38, no band below 34; Pearson Versant English Test (PVT) - PVT overall 46; and SPM English (1119) - SPM English (1119) 6C.
