What will I learn?

We offer undergraduate courses in Mathematics with Applied Mathematics and Statistics and have active and cutting-edge research in mathematics and its applications in computational mathematics and simulations, applied mathematics modelling, nonlinear science, wave propagations in lattices, fluid mechanics and financial mathematics.

We offer PhD degrees for postgraduate applicants who are interested in research-based study in applied mathematics.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants for PhD should ideally have a first class degree but need at least an upper second class degree (2:1) or equivalent. English language requirements: Those whose first language is not English are asked to fulfill the following English Language Requirements: IELTS 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in any element); TOEFL iBT 79 (minimum 17 in writing and listening, 18 in reading and 20 in speaking); CELE pre sessional course final assessment of "Pass".

For international students

If you apply to a PhD programme, you will generally need to hold an honours degree at 2.1 and/or a masters at merit level or above in a relevant subject (or international equivalent).

English language requirements:

Students whose first language is not English or their entry qualifications were not obtained from a country/region where English is the native language, are required to provide satisfactory evidence of their proficiency in English.
