Develop fundamental skills in art and design on a flexible full-time or part-time basis. Our Art and Design course is a broad foundation level programme that is the perfect introduction to disciplines within interior design, fashion or graphic communication design. Our one-year Level 6 Art and Design foundation course introduces the learner to a variety of areas in art, design and communication. The course is an excellent foundation for any Level 8 design award, introducing a broad range of design disciplines in Animation, Ceramics, Fashion, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design/Architecture, Photography and Video, Textile Design and Silk Screen Printing before students choose their pathway. The key abilities contributing to success in the programme are creativity in design, competence in communication in a variety of media, an ability to draw with a technical understanding and organisation. Griffith's art courses in Dublin draw in candidates that have a keen interest in the cultural and social factors in design, creative expression and innovation with a capacity for both independent work and teamwork.
