What will I learn?

With a strategic and international focus the MSc in HRM equips HR professionals to manage the increasing complexity and challenges in the modern HR function. The programme, which is CIPD accredited at the highest level.

With recognised international programme accreditations (from both the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), the MSc in HRM has a strategic and international focus to reflect the critical role of the HR function within modern organisations. HR professionals and managers today face multiple, and often conflicting, role requirements in a function that is increasing complex and challenging. These challenges include managing transformational change, globalisation, diversity and inclusion, balancing operational and strategic issues and managing competing demands from multiple stakeholders. The MSc in HRM is designed to assist organisations in the private, public, non-profit and semi-state sector in meeting these challenges and includes modules dealing with central issues such as leadership and change, managing conflict, retention and talent management, employment law, learning and development, International and contemporary issues in HRM and employment relations. An international qualification in Psychometric Testing is now also included in the programme.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

The minimum entry requirement is a 2:2 undergraduate degree (Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland) (or equivalent). Acceptable English Language qualifications include the following: Matriculation examinations from European countries where English is presented as a subject and an acceptable level is achieved; Irish Leaving Certificate English –Ordinary Level Grade D or above; TOEFL – 580 (paper based) or 90 (internet based); IELTS – Minimum score of 6.5 with no less than 6 in any one component; English Test for English and Academic Purposes (ETAPP) – Grade C1; GCE ‘O’ level English Language/GCSE English Language – Grade C or above; Cambridge Assessment English –Certificate of Proficiency in English - Grade C / Certificate in Advanced English Grade B; GCE Examination Boards – Oxford Delegacy of Local Examinations – Grade C / Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate – School Certificate Pass 1-6 / University of London Entrance and School Examinations Council – School Certificate Pass 1-6

For international students

Applicants must hold a qualification that is equivalent to an Irish or UK honours bachelor's degree (NQAI level 8).

Acceptable English Language qualifications include the following:
