What will I learn?

China has undoubtedly one of the most multifaceted cultures, history and politics in the world. Its civilization spans thousands of years and encompasses triumphs that stand witness until today.

This programme introduces students to the various aspects of the Chinese community – its language, rich culture, writing, literature and the history of China. The programme offers an expansive view into Chinese Studies by emphasising two main areas, the language and literature as well as the socio-culture.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students must have the following requirements: National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level equivalent) with the grade 80% and above or A Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00. Applicant may be required to undergo an interview session for certain selection programme before being accepted by the respective faculty. English Language Requirements: Students must obtain: TOEFL score of 500 (PBT), 173 (CBT) or 60 (IBT) and above or IELTS Band 5.0 - 6.5 and above or Pass in any equivalent English proficiency test approved and recognized by the University of Malaya.

For international students
