What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Biotechnology is designed to provide comprehensive education and training in biotechnology focusing on three core areas, namely agriculture, medical and industrial biotechnology discipline areas

In addition to the hands-on practical sessions, students will be exposed to a progressive curriculum comprising of scientific principles and knowledge in molecular cloning, genome editing, cell tissue culture techniques, bioinformatics analysis, bioprocessing technologies, techniques and instrumentations in research and development, as well as business and entrepreneurship skills.

Applicable for all Bachelor's degrees except ADP, Bach. of Pharmacy and Advanced Diploma in Patisserie & Gastronomic Cuisine


Students will be exposed to scientific principles and knowledge, bioinformation technologies, laboratory techniques in research development, business and entreprenuership skills, as well as legal, intellectual, social and ethical issues.

This programme is compatible with the new Taylor's Curriculum Framework that allows students to mix & match study modules.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

English Language Requirements: IELTS: Band 5.0; TOEFL: 34 (Internet Based Test); MUET Band 3.

For international students

Taylor’s Foundation in Science (FIS) - Pass with min. CGPA 2.00

Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) - Pass STPM with min. of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects, or its equivalent

Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) - Pass with min. 5Bs

A Levels - Min. EE for 2 subjects

South Australian Matriculation (SAM) / SACE International - Min. ATAR 60

Canadian Pre-University (CPU) - Min. average of 60% in 6 subjects

International Baccalaureate (IB) - Min. 24 points based on 6 subjects

Matriculation in Science - Min. CGPA 2.00

Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) - Min. 240/400

Other Qualifications - Students with other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis
