What will I learn?

The word ‘business’ is broad-based because it encompasses a wide range of concepts and activities. Logistics and supply chain management is one aspect of business that has not received much attention from the public. These management skills are not exactly visible, but they are very crucial, especially for major businesses that require the delivery of goods from one location to the other.

What is this programme about?

This is a very important subject for all types of businesses, both local and global. This programme prepares students to work in the very challenging and dynamic field of logistics which demands fast, efficient and accurate strategic business decisions. Students will be exposed to multiple logistics activities and applications such as inbound and outbound logistics, aviation, and land transport which includes rail, road and off-road transport.

In addition to that, this programme provides students the opportunity to learn the various aspects of logistics operation management, including the design, implementation and management of systems for efficient deployment of personnel, physical facilities, raw materials, in-process inventories, finished goods and related information or services. Students also will have an opportunity to learn directly from world renowned logistics companies through the frequent academic visits, seminars and industrial training.

What should I expect?

For a business to run smoothly, logistics and supply chain management are critical elements that need careful planning. This area is challenging as you will need the ability to respond to the constantly changing needs of customers and situations. This programme, however, will equip you with the vital skills needed. Both the public and private sectors, will need graduates in this field. Therefore, your skills and expertise will always be in demand.

The programme includes a three month industrial training. During this internship, students will have the opportunity to gain industry experience to make them more employable once they graduate. The internship will expose students to all the operations that they will need to deal with from the beginning to the end. From this, they will learn what is expected from them once they start working in the field.
