What will I learn?

This one-year program is an alternative pathway to a Monash degree. It allows you to study first-year units in four of our schools arts and social sciences, business, IT and science and qualify for the second year of a chosen degree.

Degree options and units

You have seven degrees to choose from across the four participating schools. Whichever you choose, you need to study six units related to your degree and two compulsory study-skills units, learning in Higher Education and Academic Literacy, in your first year.

Entry requirements

For international students

International students are required to meet equivalent of STPM, Malaysia score of 8% and must be at least 17 years old.

Few more country specific entry qualification/scores listed below.

A Level GCE - 6%

ATAR - Indicative score only - 65%

Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education - 16%

Indian School Certificate Examination - 55%

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma - 24%

Specific subject requirements

Science - at least one of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, Physics, Psychology or Mathematics at a higher level (Australian Year 12 equivalent)

Business - Mathematics (Australian Year 11 equivalent)

Information technology - Mathematics (Australian Year 12 Higher Level equivalent)

They also must have the following requirements are as follows:

IELTS (International English Language Testing System - academic test): minimum test score of 6.5 overall; at least 6.0 in each individual band.

Paper-based TOEFL (American Test of English as a Foreign Language): minimum test score of 550; Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5.

Internet-based TOEFL (American Test of English as a Foreign Language): score of at least 79 overall; writing score of at least 21; speaking score of at least 18; reading score at least 13; listening score of 12.

PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English): Overall test score: 58 with minimum Communicative skills scores: Listening: 50; Reading: 50; Speaking: 50; Writing: 50.
