What will I learn?

The Foundation in Arts programme is the recommended pathway for students wishing to pursue bachelor’s degree programmes at the following Faculties:

  • Faculty of Built Environment (via Foundation in Arts Track A) - Quantity Surveying, Construction Management and Economics, Real Estate Management, Architecture, Interior Architecture
  • Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (via Foundation in Arts Track B) - Hospitality, English Studies, Psychology, Early Childhood Education
  • Faculty of Communication and Creative Industries (via Foundation in Arts Track C; Note: from February 2022 intake onwards) - Communication, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Creative Multimedia

Entry requirements

For international students

Students are required to complete international academic qualification equivalent to Malaysian high school (i.e. SPM); O Level/IGCSE/equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government with minimum 5 Grade C(c), which must include English Language and specific subjects required by the Bachelor Degree that would be progress to thereafter.

International students must meet any one of the following English Language tests recognized by TAR UC as meeting the English Language requirement before they are accepted for admission to any of the TAR UC programmes.

IELTS (Academic): Band 4.0

TOEFL iBT: 31

MUET: Band 3.0

Pearson Test of English: 36

Cambridge English (Linguaskill): 140

Or any other qualification which is of equivalent level as determined by the Senate of TAR UC.
