What will I learn?

Introduction

The Master of Philosophy is a programme of independent, supervised research and is assessed solely on the basis of a thesis. This program can be taken in any discipline especially in the area of informatics, for which appropriate supervision is available.

PROGRAM OUTCOME

This Master research program is capable of developing students with the following capabilities with the following capabilities:

Exploring the knowledge and theories suitable for the particular master level research context.

Identifying and analyzing the appropriate level of research problem and producing suitable research proposal.

Justifying and verifying the proposed research using related fundamental theories.

Performing the research in a systematic manner.

Presenting and defending their research.

Writing and publishing their research work.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants must have a bachelor degree with good honours from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or any other institution of higher learning recognised by the Senate; or other qualifications equivalent to a bachelor degree and experience in the related field recognized by the senate. English Language Requirements: IELTS ? Band 6.0; TOEFL ? 550; TOEFL (IBT) ? 79ELS CIEP LEVEL 108 & 109.

For international students

A Bachelor’s Degree with good honors from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or any other institution of higher learning recognized by the Senate; or

A qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree and experience in the relevant field recognized by the Senate.

Applicant must fulfill one of the options below:

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): The minimum scores of 550 or TOEFL IBT 79

International English Language Testing System (IELTS): The minimum scores of 6.0

ELS Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP): Completion of ELS Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) Level 107 or higher

Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR): The minimum scale of B2
