What will I learn?

About faculty

In October 1998, the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology were officially established to meet the demands for additional academic programmes and to keep pace with rapid developments in the respective field. The setting up of the Faculty also parallels the goal of the university to stay abreast of developments in Information Technology.

Currently, the faculty constitutes of four departments: Department of Multimedia, Department of Computer Science, Department of Software Engineering and Information System and the Department of Communication Technology and Networks.

This area focuses on studies that are related to information systems environment in the organization by emphasizing on core aspects such as strategic information systems planning, web-based information systems, knowledge management systems, management and enterprise information systems, information systems and business intelligence, e-commerce, techniques and methods of integrated information systems development, management of information technology, data warehousing and data mining.

Entry requirements

For international students

The applicant should possess a Bachelor’s degree (with honours) in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.000, or

The applicant who has insufficient academic qualification can be admitted into the programme subjected to any other requirement specified by the Faculty/Institute.

An applicant from a local public university who is in the final semester of his undergraduate study programme may be considered for provisional admission provided that his latest CGPA or its equivalent academic result satisfies the graduate programme admission requirements.

For applicants with one of the following

550 for the TOEFL Paper-based Test (Academic Version); or

Band 6.0 for IELTS (Academic Training); or

79-80 for TOEFL Internet-based Test (Academic Version); or

Level 109 for CIEP at ELS Language Centre; or

Any English Language Test which is equivalent to B2 in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
