About Faculty
Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP) was established from the merger of the Institute of Bio composites and the Rain Forest Academy, following the Research University status awarded to UPM in January 2007. INTROP consists of three laboratories, Laboratory of Sustainable Bio resource Management (BIOREM), Laboratory of Bio composites Technology (BIOCOMPOSITE), and Laboratory of Biopolymers and Derivatives (BADs).
This field is a subject of managing sustainable ecosystem processes of natural and planted forests. The essential elements are related to ecosystem issues such as forest carbon sequestrations, sustainable productions of bio-resources, forest bio-diversities and stand dynamics, the roles of indigenous plants in urban landscapes, ecotourism services and resources, bio resource valuations, economics of bio based products, and economics of sustainable businesses and corporate activities. These are to ensure that the use of natural resources is balanced with people's quality of Life.

Students must have a
Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with CGPA of at least 3.00 or equivalent; or
CGPA of less than 3.00 with at least 3 years working experience will be considered.
For applicants with one of the following
550 for the TOEFL Paper-based Test (Academic Version); or
Band 6.0 for IELTS (Academic Training); or
79-80 for TOEFL Internet-based Test (Academic Version); or
Level 109 for CIEP at ELS Language Centre; or
Any English Language Test which is equivalent to B2 in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
