What will I learn?

The field of medical gerontology focuses on research in age-related illness and disability. Research and development in this field aim at improving knowledge in screenings and diagnoses as well as developing effective intervention treatments and care for age related disorders, such as stroke, cognitive impairment and dementia, falls, bone health, and frailty. Nutrition and exercise appropriate for older persons are emphasised as preventive measures and rehabilitation strategies for successful ageing.

Entry requirements

For international students

The applicant should possess:

A Master Degree (by coursework) in a relevant field with a minimum grade average of B, or

A Master Degree by research in a relevant field.

For applicants with one of the following

550 for the TOEFL Paper-based Test (Academic Version); or

Band 6.0 for IELTS (Academic Training); or

79-80 for TOEFL Internet-based Test (Academic Version); or

Level 109 for CIEP at ELS Language Centre; or

Any English Language Test which is equivalent to B2 in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
