You will learn core skills in accounting and get hands-on experience with an accountancy project for a real business. We will support you to succeed. Our classes are small so we can work closely with you to achieve your goals and, our strong industry relationships keep you up to date with the latest business practices.

This qualification meets the educational admission requirements of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. We are also one of CPA Australia's globally accredited institutions. This accreditation means your qualification is recognised in 127 countries.

Fast-track your programme of study to graduate sooner

Your work experience or previous tertiary study may count towards achieving your qualification. Our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) programme is designed for those who already have the on-the-job skills and knowledge, but want to take their career to the next level with a qualification.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

High School Diploma - SATV & SWATM (mini composite score 1250). Applicants must have successfully completed at least 42 NCEA (or equivalent) credits at Level 3 (including 14 credits in each of two subjects from the NZQA Approved Subjects for University Entrance list); and 8 credits in NCEA English Level 2 (four in reading and four in writing from the NZQA Literacy Requirements for University Entrance list) (or equivalent); and 8 credits in NCEA Mathematics Level 2 (or equivalent); or Successfully completed at least 72 credits at NCEA (or equivalent) Level 2 including a minimum of 14 credits in each of two subjects and including 8 credits in each of reading/writing and mathematics and including 30 credits achieved at Merit or Excellence; or Have at least 60 NZQA recognized credits at Level 5 or higher; or Provide evidence of equivalence through practical, professional or educational experience e.g. three–five years’ full-time work experience (relevant to ICT) they can apply for entry. Evidence of literacy and numeracy will be required. MIT literacy and numeracy assessments are available. English language requirement: IELTS test: Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5; TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT): Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE); TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18); PTE (Academic) score of 50.

For international students

  • Successfully completed at least 42 NCEA credits (or equivalent) at Level 3 or higher, made up of:
    • 14 credits in one approved subject
    • 14 credits in another approved subject
    • 14 credits from one or two additional domains or approved subjects; and
  • 8 credits in NCEA English Level 2 (four in reading and four in writing from the NZQA Literacy Requirements for University Entrance list) (or equivalent); and
  • 14 credits in NCEA mathematics (or pangarau) Level 1 (or equivalent);

Or

  • Have successfully completed a minimum of 72 credits at NCEA (or equivalent) Level 2 including a minimum of 14 credits in each of four subjects and a minimum of 30 credits at Merit or Excellence. Applicants will need to have achieved degree entry standards for numeracy and literacy;

Or

  • Provide evidence of equivalence through practical, professional or educational experience e.g., three to five years' full-time work experience (relevant to business). Evidence of literacy and numeracy will be required. MIT literacy assessments are available;

and

IELTS test: Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5; TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT): Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE); TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18); Cambridge English Examinations: B2 First, or B2 First for schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill;; OET at Grade C in all sub-tests; Pearson Test of English (Academic): PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42
