What will I learn?

Programme highlights

Develop advanced cooking skills and learn the skills you need to lead a kitchen.

Gain experience cooking and presenting a range of dishes in our world-class kitchen facilities.

Further your understanding of restaurant management. Learn how to plan, develop and cost menus and manage staff. You will also get real-world experience on work placements in restaurants.

When you graduate, you will be ready to take on a managerial role in a professional kitchen.

Programme structure

Students will receive two awards including the New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 4) and the New Zealand Diploma in Cookery (Level 5) (Cookery Strand).

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants are required to complete Year 12 or equivalent of secondary school.

Entry requirements vary from country to country.

IELTS test: Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5; TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT): Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE); TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): Score of 46 (with a writing score of 14); Cambridge English Examinations: B2 First or B2 First for schools with a score of 162. No less than 154 in each skill; OET - Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests; Pearson Test of English (Academic): PTE (Academic) score of 42 with no band score lower than 36.
