What will I learn?

Enhance your employability in the competitive global market with a qualification that provides advanced technical foundations and industrial perspectives in your chosen field.

The MEngSt allows students with academic engineering backgrounds to expand their existing theoretical and practical skills. It is flexible – you can study either full-time or part-time, undertake either a primarily coursework or research-focused programme, and choose from sixteen distinct specialisations.

This programme ultimately requires an in-depth exploration of your chosen topic. You will demonstrate the high-quality critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are sought-after by employers worldwide, or consider this as foundation for further study.

Polymer Engineering:

Gain advanced knowledge of polymer materials and their behaviour, processing techniques, characterisation and responsible design. Learn how they fit into the circular economy.

Subject overview

Polymers remain vital to many industries as they fit a range of purposes, resist corrosion and are relatively inexpensive to manufacture. Our Polymer Engineering courses have a strong focus on the development of commercial products and provide you with both practical and theoretical opportunities to expand your knowledge.

An increasing demand for higher performance materials will ensure that the use of polymers continues to expand. We provide industry relevant courses that focus on problem solving and product development. They include intensive practical components and are intended for industry professionals who want to further develop their specialised technical knowledge.
