What will I learn?

Get a taste of creative technologies by starting your creative journey with a half year programme. You’ll learn about the principles and elements of design, Adobe CC applications, photography and video production, digital fabrication (laser cutting, 3D printing) and 3D model making for film. Start developing your creative portfolio.

Students will study the following courses:

CT4134 Physical Media

CT4135 Creative Technologies

CT4136 Time-based Media

CT4137 Studio Project

Each course is worth approximately 15 credits.

Entry requirements

For international students

Under 20

NCEA level 2 or equivalent qualification/work experience and evidence of suitability based on a portfolio of work.


If you’re 20 years or over, you may qualify for special admission on this programme. Contact WelTec if you don’t meet the entry criteria as provided on the Under 20 information.

All students will be required to have a makeup kit and digital camera for photographic work.

Minimum IELTS (academic) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent.
