Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants may be required to audition.

  • NCEA Level 3 OR
  • Equivalent academic achievement OR
  • On a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Executive Dean

For applicants 20 years of age and over there are no minimum academic requirements.

Applicants whose first language is not English must have an IELTS Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5 (or equivalent including TOEFL). IELTS scores used must be taken from a single IELTS Test Report Form (ie combining scores from more than one test is not permissible). TOEFL (iBT): Score of 46 (with a writing score of 14); Cambridge B2 First (for Schools), C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency: B2 with score of 162; no less than 154 in each skill; OET: Minimum Grade C or 200 in all subtests; PToE (Academic): Score of 42 with no band less than 36.

Applicants under 20 years of age:
