Ready to step-up your networking skills and knowledge? This one-year New Zealand Diploma in Networking is perfect if you want to move into a more advanced network technician or support role.

You study current and emerging concepts as you gain skills in configuring, maintaining and monitoring networks. You also learn how to scale up a network, design an upgrade and integrate communication technologies into computer systems.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

For certificate and diploma programmes at Levels 5 and 6, all international students must have: NCEA Level 2 with passes in English/ Te Reo M?ori or education achievement, at least equivalent to NCEA Level 2, and a minimum of 42 credits at Level 3; Or equivalent; Provide evidence of ability to complete academic requirements for the program. Applicants must meet the English language requirements: Level 5: IELTS Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5; TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT)- Score of 46 (with a writing score of 14); Cambridge English Qualifications- B2 First or B2 First for schools with a score of 162. No less than 154 in each skill; OET- Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests; PTE (Academic) score of 42 with no band score lower than 36. Level 6: IELTS Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5. TOEFL Internet based test (iBT) - Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18); PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42; OET- Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests; Cambridge English Qualifications- B2 First, or B2 First for schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill.

For international students

All international students must have: NCEA Level 2 with passes in English/Te Reo Maori or education achievement at least equivalent to NCEA Level 2, and a minimum of 42 credits at Level 3; or evidence of ability to complete academic requirements for the programme.

You are recommended to:

  • hold the New Zealand Certificate in Information Technology Technical Support (Level 5), OR
  • have equivalent knowledge, skills and experience

IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5; TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) score of 60 (with a writing score of 18); TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT) score of 550 (with an essay score of 5.0 TWE); Cambridge English Qualifications: B2 First, or B2 First for schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill; OET: Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests; PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42.
