What will I learn?

With a strong focus on diversity including disability, sexuality, gender and age, you will learn about the economic, social, cultural and environmental influences on public health and wellbeing and the key institutions involved in health promotion in New Zealand.Learn to design and evaluate evidence-based health promotion interventions, programmes and models, including undertaking needs assessment and utilising new technologies, in order to maintain a healthy population in New Zealand.Our proximity to government and large not-for-profit organisations offers graduates research opportunities and hands-on experience with health promotion guests, agencies and groups.Whether you want to study something new, enhance your career prospects or get up to date with new developments in your industry, postgraduate study in health can help you achieve your goals.The programme is designed to fit around work commitments, giving you knowledge of complex health care systems and developing the theoretical and practical skills you need to become a leader in your workplace. Choose from one of seven areas of specialisation.To qualify for entry, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. The path you take will depend on your previous academic achievements and your professional goals.

Entry requirements

For international students

You need a Bachelors degree with at least a B average unless stated otherwise in the programmes minimum general entry requirements. A background in a particular subject area or extensive relevant work experience may be required. Students with equivalent international qualifications from a recognised institution are encouraged to apply. Each application is assessed individually, and entry into postgraduate programmes is at the discretion of the programme director.
