What will I learn?

Take your clinical and professional supervision skills to the next level, with a strong focus on reflective practice. Designed for working professionals, this programme will benefit practitioners in a range of fields, from social work and health to legal services and education. Develop advanced clinical and professional supervision skills while learning alongside practitioners from a wide range of professions. Grow your skillset through short block-courses and online flexible self-directed study, with feedback from peers and lecturers. This multi-disciplinary programme is designed to meet the demand for qualified supervisors in social and human services. Throughout the programme you will examine the concept, role, purpose and benefits of professional supervision and explore a range of theoretical and practical models and approaches, including anti-oppressive and cross-cultural dynamics within supervision. Through classroom presentations, small group practice and written assignments, you will develop and integrate advanced knowledge, skills and values of professional supervision. Through elective courses you will have an opportunity to develop critical skills in staff management and explore teaching and learning strategies for supervising students on field education placements. With direct applications to your current workplace, the programme offers the opportunity to fine-tune your group supervision skills and cover the complex dimensions of stress and trauma encountered by health and human services workers.
