What will I learn?

This media and communications degree encourage students to think and work critically and creatively within a wide range of contemporary media and cultural practices.

Students will be exposed to relevant media theory, build skills in media production and automatically become members of the Student Chapter of Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS). Student members get to experience industry visits and IPRS hosted events on an annual basis.

Students will be touching on the key areas of: screen, new and digital media, global and international contexts of media and culture, creative industries, media history and theory, media and cultural research, and media and cultural production.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry via Year 1

 

•Three GCE A-Level subjects which must include a business-related subject such as Business, Economics, Mathematics or similar; or equivalent.

 

Entry via Year 2

 

•Polytechnic Diploma in Communications, Media or similar; or

 

•Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Communications, Media pathway programmes or equivalent, awarded by a recognised private education institution.

 

Note: Successful completion of the following PSB Academys Diploma programmes may be eligible for direct entry into Year 2.

 

Diploma in Graphic Design and Media

Diploma in Media and Communication

Diploma in Media and Communications (E-Learning)

Entry via Year 3

 

•Applicants may be eligible for direct entry into Year 3 with a Polytechnic Diploma in a closely related discipline. Such applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis in consultation with Coventry University link tutors.

 

Applicants with any other non-standard qualifications may apply but will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by PSB Academy and Coventry University.

 

Minimum Age Requirement

 

16 years old

English Language Requirements (Language Proficiency)

English Language at GCE O-Level at grade C or above; or

Successfully complete PSB Academys Certificate in English Proficiency Level 5; or]

IELTS score of 6.0 overall or equivalent
