What will I learn?

Mechanical Engineering is the basis for many of the engineering disciplines, including the automotive, aero, marine and medical sectors. In our ever-changing world, mechanical engineers develop new and differing uses for technologies and materials that improve the mechanical operation of equipment and devices used in anything from food to oil production or from international construction projects to the design of toys.

Develop an expertise in the areas of science, commerce, design, manufacturing and management with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Coventry University.

The undergraduate degree will provide you with the opportunity to develop essential knowledge and skills in science, commerce, design, manufacturing and management to help prepare you for a career across a broad range of industries, with, for example, a major equipment manufacturer, a design consultancy or a supply-chain company.

We aim to produce graduates with the versatility and depth of understanding to deal with new and unusual challenges in mechanical engineering, alongside the necessary imagination and creativity to innovate.

This programme consists of 16 modules with exemptions; the full programme consists of 20 modules.

Assessment and Examination

Assessments may include laboratory assignments, tests, projects and final examinations.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants must have Diploma from PSB Academy, or equivalent. English Language requirements: IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 (with no sub-band less than 6.0); TOEFL Paper-based Test - a minimum overall score of 550 with a score of 5 or more in the Test of Written English; TOEFL Internet-based Test - a minimum overall score of 60 with a minimum for SLR 18; W 22.

For international students

  • Completed GCE A Level (3 business related subject), or equivalent
  • Completed PSB Academy Diploma, or equivalent

Note: Relevant Diploma or Bachelor’s degree qualifications may considered for module exemptions for the degree pathway

  • IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 (with no sub-band less than 5.5)
  • Completed PSB Academy’s Certificate in English Proficiency Advanced Level
  • Completed Association of Business Executive (ABE) Level 4 / NCC Level 4 Diploma / Higher National Diploma (HND) level 4, with Certifications from Schools verifying medium of instructions is English
