The MSc in Information Studies (IS) programme builds foundational skills across the breadth of the information studies field and provides opportunities for students to take courses in the following two categorizations:
Library Science: Focuses on providing essential knowledge applicable in an type of library or information management jobs.
Information Analytics: Focuses on using methods, tools and frameworks to manage, analyze and derive insight from traditional as well as digital information assets such as social, mobile, cloud and big data.
Graduates from the programme will have both the leadership skills and analytic capability to contextualize information in different organizational environments so that they can (a) identify organizational information needs and gaps; (b) capture, search, organize, classify, analyze, and use information, and; (c) build and manage information organizations.

Graduates have a strong track record of employment in libraries, hospitals, universities, and other government as well as business organizations. Careers options include: Library careers, such as Librarians, Children Librarians, Subject Librarians; Research careers such as Researchers, Research Associates, Research Manager, Advance to PhD Study - University Lecturers/Professors; Technology-related careers, such as: Project Managers, Information Architects, Data Visualization Specialists, Business Analysts, Systems Analysts; and Information analytic-related careers such as Information Analysts, Social Media Analysts, Analytics Consultants, Statistical Specialists.

To apply to the MSc in Information Studies (IS) programme, you need to meet these minimum requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
Good communication skills (written and spoken English)
Working experience in an information-related field
Passion and interest in the information studies field
Degree classification second class lower/Honours (Merit) and above or equivalent
TOEFL: 600 (paper-based); 250 (computer-based); 100 (Internet-based)
IELTS - 6.5
