What will I learn?

The BA (Hons) in Business Management (Enterprise) program is designed to prepare students to be future entrepreneurs, with the skills and knowledge to start their own businesses or to run departments within larger companies. The program presents a general business outlook while developing student's integrated perspective of business. This program helps to create a compelling personal point of view which will help students land their leading role. Students will also develop their skills in venture management, team project-planning and launching a business.

Note: We are applying an innovative on-campus hybrid learning approach which prioritizes classes on campus and combines the best of face-to-face and virtual learning. We are offering several on-campus start dates and the opportunity for students to begin online and come to campus later. Alternatively, students can study 100% online.

Career Options

The BA (Hons) in Business Management with a pathway in enterprise is designed to help students gain entrepreneurial know-how and business knowledge. Graduates of this degree may be interested in the following career positions:

Entrepreneur

Entrepreneurs create their own business. To do this, they must raise capital and determine the business model and resources needed to convert their idea into a reality. Entrepreneurs assume risks on starting a company but also reap large rewards if their business is successful. An entrepreneur should have a wide range of business skills to be able to cover the skills needed to start a new venture.

Business Consultant

Helping companies to reach their targets, improve productivity and increase profitability are some of the many duties that business consultants undertake. Other duties include monitoring changes in the market and embracing new business models to help an enterprise reach its goals. A business consultant will undertake in-depth research into a company for a comprehensive understanding of its structure, processes and product features. They will also carry out research into competitor and the market to match opportunities.

A business consultant should have high analytical and research skills as well as be proficient in both written and verbal communication.

Innovation Manager

Innovation managers are in charge of developing new products, services and processes. These professionals lead new projects and are, by default, curious. They will pull ideas from other industries and typically like to challenge the status quo. They are not fazed by failure and have good interpersonal skills to help the organization accept the project.

An innovation manager is creative with skills in research and analysis. Given changes to be made, they must also possess communication and interpersonal skills to lead projects and convince stakeholders.

Business Development Manager

Business development managers will create and implement business plans to grow a company. They will look for opportunities in current markets by expanding to new sectors or will look for opportunities overseas. To succeed in international markets, knowledge of local culture, language, government regulations, competitors and markets are required. They will look to expand the current client portfolio and make new contacts. Competitor and market information must be collected and analyzed by professionals within this area.

Analytical, communication, research and numerical skills are needed for the position of business development manager.

Entry requirements

For international students

1 certified copy of high school diploma and transcripts; or equivalent.
Proof of English level: TOEFL score 80 (internet-based), 213 (computer-based); IELTS 6.0; CAE B2 with a minimum score of 169; native English speaker or equivalent.
