What will I learn?

This programme offers you the opportunity to study the theoretical and practical dimensions of adult, community and youth development. It will equip you with the skills and knowledge to work alongside people in communities to initiate sustainable social change. Students will discover ways in which you can help people realise their potential and work together for a fairer, healthier and happier world.

This qualification will enable you to work in the field of community learning and development, including community development work, youth work, health, housing and social and economic regeneration. This course provides opportunity to participate in a network of community development projects. Project leads contribute to the taught aspects of the programme and also provide you with placement opportunities.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students must hold Bachelor’s degree (GPA: 3.0+) from an accredited university or college in a relevant subject. Normally a 2.1 or 2.2 Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject will be accepted.

For international students

Students whose first language is not English need to have International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic module (not General Training) with overall score 6.5, no sub-test less than 6.0 or equivalent scores in another recognised qualification; ibTOEFL: 90; no sub-test less than: reading: 20; listening: 19; speaking: 19; and writing: 23.
