**Aeronautical engineers design, develop and manage civil and military aircraft. Accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), our course is a gateway to professional Chartered Engineer status.** Aeronautical engineering combines essential mechanical engineering content with aeronautic specialisms. Delivered over four years – or five with a placement – you’ll study a suite of modules design to embed theoretical knowledge and creative application to help you become a world-class engineer. With a focus on real-world problems solving, you’ll explore how to improve fuel efficiency, ensure flight safety and apply using technology to take flight even further. Our 'With Professional Experience' option gives you the opportunity to take a placement year to apply what you’ve learnt and develop further skills, adding ‘with professional experience’ to your final degree award. Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants will need: a combined score of SAT I of at least 1260 with an individual minimum score in mathematics of 570 /800 and an individual minimum score of 610/800 in the evidence-based reading and writing section; or ACT with a score of at least 26; or grade 3, 3, 4 in three Advanced Placement Tests (APs) in specified subjects; or SAT II in three specified subjects at 575 or better (we will accept tests interchangeably as long as in total three subject areas are covered). We require IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent.
